When growing garlic for seed it has to be very healthy, happy and above average garlic. So, cover cropping between garlic crops becomes really important. This late in the season (end of September) in Southwest Colorado, a cold hardy cover crop is all I can grow. Here I am seeding a rye, that will come up before winter really hits.
See my next post to read about my success with arugula as a cover crop earlier in the season.
